HERD NOTES: The Pluss & Disch families have been dairying for many years and have decided to disperse their dairy herd and cash rent the farm out. These ladies have received DFA Quality awards the past four years and several awards prior with Maple Leaf Cheese. Majority of this herd are Holstein with a few Jersey Cross Cows. Mostly a young group with many just fresh 2 & 3 year olds. The SCC currently is 140,000 with a 65lb. Milk average with plenty of room to produce more. SCC will be posted day of auction. Several cows giving 100+ lbs. of milk. Good breeding program with 56 cows bred back and are 150 days & under in milk. WOW! This herd handled well & was great to work around. Cows have good udder support and are working hard. They will go on to the next level and should adapt nicely. The kind that will improve as time goes on. These guys have AI bred past 25 years with ABS. They are on a monthly herd check and up to date with foot work maintenance. Vaccination includes BovaShield Gold, Modified Live w/Lepto & clostridium. Calves get Tri Shield at birth. Dry cows get QuarterMaster. Cows are being milked in a parlor and are used to sand bedded free stalls and head locks. A few are carrying the red factor. Feeding consists of TMR with corn silage, haylage, ground shell corn and protein. Young stock are well grown and in good flesh. Cattle here for everyone. Heifers will be sold in groups according to age/size. Over night stay is welcome.
