HERD NOTES: This herd has been artificially bred since the late 1970’s. Dominant sires were used with Select Sires & ABS. Some of the sires used were Shottle, Brendel, Roy, Damion, Baltimore, King Boy, Headliner Time, Crush, Dundee & Sanchez. Influential bulls with lots of dairy type were always chosen. The Booth Family have been milking for over fifteen years. They are in the process of making a transition into A-2 milk. Many certified A-2 calves in this herd along with several cattle carrying single cross and A-2 calves. A-2 is a big and upcoming thing. They have done an excellent job in promoting their dairy herd always used top bulls of the dairy industry. Majority of these cattle are large framed and are well uddered. Many cows milking from 80-100+lbs.. The butter fat is 4.0 with 3.3 Protein. The SCC usually runs 180-240,000 with past April at 212,000 & May at 194,000. Individual SCC will be furnished on sale day. Cows are being milked in a tie stall barn with comfort stalls. Cows and heifers are use to loose housing and are being fed grain, balage and corn silage. Mark your calendar now.
